Researcher, Administrator of Graduate Programmes in International Relations, Invited Lecturer

Mr. Kakhishvili joined the Faculty of Social Sciences in 2015. He also cooperates with Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) as an Invited Lecturer, and Georgian Institute of Politics (GIP) as a Researcher. Mr. Kakhishvili’s field of expertise includes politics and international relations of the former Soviet Union, Georgia’s foreign policy with the focus on Georgian-Russian relations, and issues related to national identity, ethnic minorities and nationalism. He has published various articles, policy papers and book chapters including as a co-author with such established scholars as Stephen Jones and Kornely Kakachia. Previously Mr. Kakhishvili worked for German Institute of International and Security Affairs (SWP), Caucasian House, East-West Management Institute and European Centre for Minority Issues. He has obtained two Master’s degrees from the University of Oxford, St Antony’s College,and from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
